Hook analyzer
TikTok hook analyzer: score your first 2 seconds
Most TikToks are decided in the first 2 seconds. Viewlify's hook analyzer watches your opening, scores it from 0 to 10, explains in one sentence why viewers stay or swipe, and rewrites three stronger hooks for the same video, along with a full check of retention, visuals and sound.
Paste a TikTok link or upload a draft. Results in about 30 seconds.
What you get on every hook
A hook score with the reason
0 to 10, with what is actually on screen and heard in the opening.
Three rewritten hooks
Openings written for your video, ready to film or to put as on-screen text.
The moment people leave
Retention is scored too, so you know if the hook or the middle is the problem.
Judged against your usual
Views are compared to your own account's median, not a generic benchmark.
How it works
- 1Paste the TikTok or upload the draftAny public video, or a file before it goes live.
- 2The AI watches the openingWhat is shown, said and written in the first seconds, with the sound.
- 3Swap in a stronger hookPick one of the three rewrites and test it on your next post.
Example: a hook scored 3/10
A sample result on a beauty account: the opening hid the payoff. Here is why, and what to say instead.
Hook
3/10
The first 2 seconds show you opening a cabinet with no text on screen, so nothing tells a scroller what the video is about.
Stronger hooks for the same video
- Stop doing this to your skin at night.
- The skincare mistake I see on everyone over 25.
- Your moisturizer is not the problem. This is.
Frequently asked questions
What is a TikTok hook analyzer?
It watches the opening of a video, what is shown, said and written in the first 2 to 3 seconds, and scores how likely it is to stop the scroll. Viewlify's version gives a 0 to 10 hook score with the reason, then three rewritten hooks for the same video.
Why do my viewers swipe in the first 2 seconds?
Usually because nothing on screen tells them what they will get: a slow intro, no text, a greeting, or the payoff saved for later. The analyzer names the exact problem in your opening, for example 'a static screenshot with no text', so you know what to change.
Is this different from a hook generator?
Yes. A generator writes hooks from a topic. The analyzer watches your actual video, judges the hook you used, and rewrites it for that specific video. Our free hook generator is great for ideas before you film; the analyzer is for the video you already made.
Does it check more than the hook?
It does: each check also scores retention, visuals, clarity, sound and shareability, because a great hook on a slow video still flops. The hook is weighted the most in the overall score.
How much does it cost?
Hook analysis is part of the Video check, included in the paid plans: Creator includes 30 AI video analyses a month for $29/month, with a 14-day trial you can cancel anytime.
