The very first draft of the idea for the Family Day festival that we threw was this note that I have on my phone. It's the ideas for the obstacle course that we threw, and 99% of these actually end up coming to fruition. It just a lot more planning than I thought it was gonna be, but it was amazing. One of my most recent drafts is the new design of our under eye mask called I see. The first thing I did was start to pull out words that reminded me of something coolly. That ended up turning into the first version of our design, and I didn't think that looked good at all. So then I was like, let's stick to our same design that we do for our OG eye mask. Let's just turn it into white and blue. We ended up launching them a few weeks ago, and I can report they are our best sellers today. One of the most successful series that I've had on my platforms has been, like, my Black History Month series. It was like a fully funded production with a cinematographer, a videographer, but the first version of the series was me at home on my couch, a notes app. And I think it's really awesome that the first version of this thing that I did on my couch at home, I could come around and pour more into it. When my sister and I first decided that we Really wanted to have a brand. It was very early on, but we didn't know exactly what it was gonna look like. We kind of just. We're dumped. It turned into a full fledged business which we are running together today. So everything always for me starts as a stream of consciousness. These sort of messy thoughts and ideas and pieces of research that you've picked up here. I literally have probably like 100,000 words just in my notes of ideas and things. This crazy idea that I had was to throw an oxtail cooking competition. I started to develop my own recipe, and then I got a little arrogant, started telling everybody I make better oxtail than them. And so I planned it for about six months and I invited all of my close friends and we threw a oxtail cook off. Fast forward two years later. We did a five city tour. Had about 10,000 people coming together across the US, all for the love of oxtail. You can build it, you can do it! Fly with those ideas, baby.

Grab on. Yep. Great work needs a deadline, a story, a budget, or an impetus. I'll say a story, because you can do anything with a budget. You can do anything with a deadline, but if you don't have a story or something that's actually connected to it, there's no point to do it. My creative fuel coffee, music. Curiosity or spite? You know, curiosity and spite are neck and neck. But it has to be curiosity. Of course, I do get fueled by haters, so it might be spite in a curiosity second. A creative block is best cured by lowering your standards temporarily. A nap, a walk, or a drink. I usually go with a walk. Probably a nap. Nap is good. Scariest part of any project. Starting hibiting, showing someone or calling it done? I think calling it done. You just gotta trust your gut and send it. Showing someone. When you show someone, you invite criticism before you even start or you release it. I think maybe starting because that means you have to do it. I think it's showing someone. That's where you get the real life feedback.

I know I'm a very motivated person, but I cannot do it alone. We're going alone. We haven't really done anything here. Something that I feel really proud of lately is within my work, is being able to connect with my work. I am a freelance journalist. Nobody tells you that. After graduation. Everyone's version of making it, it's completely different. Graduate, get a job, and climb the ladder. That was the plan, right? But now everyone I know is juggling, like, five things at once. One friend is freelancing, another is trying to launch a business, and someone else is helping with their family shop. So maybe success doesn't look as linear as we thought it would. It's messier, more creative, and more personal. Because ambition isn't just corporate titles anymore. It's side hustles, passion projects, helping your family, building something from scratch. And whatever you're building, you're already doing it.

Boy kibble. This one's a little controversial, but I'm giving it a B tier. This is for the macro counting food is fuel. Type of person that has no care for any kind of fun in the world. I kinda think salads overrated. Like colorful boy kibble. Not the worst, not the best. It's going B tier too. Ham sandwich. Absolute banger of a meal from childhood to adulthood. This is peak 100% S tier. Peanut butter and jelly or PB and J? A tier. We're talking instant classic, easy to make, difficult to mess up, absolutely scrumptious coffee. Now this is S tier. Nothing beats gulping down an iced coffee on an empty stomach. Plus that 15 to 30 minutes flow state is definitely worth any pain and or suffering you may get throughout the day. Applesauce begins with A because it is A tier. Pure escapism food. Nothing dissociates you more from work or adulthood like some ice cold applesauce. Give it up for the legend ice cubes. Every office has them. Are systems that predate at least 14 office printers and 7 coffee machines. This is the master final spreadsheet, first created in 2008, last updated yesterday. So technically not final for years. Half these tabs are empty. One literally says do not delete and has nothing in it. Not the technique in which one brave employee merged every cell in the header row. The office is constantly changing, but the spreadsheets. They're eternal.
