Let's say you have a midterm that's a multiplication, okay, simple multiplication one number times one number equal another number a friend who's also taking the midterm instead of learning how to actually multiply, he goes about and learns the entire multiplication table. That's all he learns for the midterm. He then he goes to take that midterm he sits on in class and he notices that the midterm is 3 by 3 multiplication. So three number multiplication is over just the two that he memorized. Do you think he's gonna do well on the midterm? No, you can tell me why. I can tell you why. How else would you study for this midterm right? What would you do? A, you would learn what a number is B, you would learn how to multiply two numbers c, you would learn how to multiply three numbers. Now you learn those three things and you go take that midterm. Get ready with me for my birthday party well my actual birthday is on Sunday when else better to celebrate it than on a fucking Friday guys no one wants to party on a Sunday also last year I had literally one of the litest parties I've ever had we did a little gathering at mine little it was like massive party at mine and then we had a party bus that took us to the Woodbine Casino we gambled for like a little bit and then it took us to the club where I had like a sign with my name on it mind you now I'm turning 22 so I can't be doing all of that so this year I have decided that we are doing like a masquerade slash road rally theme so everyone's gonna gather at my place this time but it's because it's like my own apartment we're gonna play flip cup outside it's gonna be super fun but we're gonna drink party we all have mask grade masks and then the party bus is also gonna come pick us up but this time it's gonna bring us to two mystery stop where we're basically gonna do road rally so like you get a set of challenges and you have points and then at the end of the night whoever like the the group that wins gets the prize fun of like I don't know 20 bucks fifty bucks depends depends on how much money I wanna put in it so you have to send proof of completion of the task. So one of them is like kidnap a freshman for like 100 points. You know what I mean? And then at the end of all that it's gonna take us to the rec room where we're gonna play arcade games and like the whole premise is that everyone has to play an arcade game. This is career advice from your older sister given that my sister probably wouldn't wanna hear this from me anyway so I'm just gonna share this on the internet with us so that you can decide what you wanna do with your career later on and not feel stressed out about okay No. 1 the thing that you need to realize is that in college it's not for you to figure out what you wanna do with your life a lot of people have this misconception that once you get to college and you pick your major that is like your decision for life and that's like your career path and I feel like that's what puts the pressure on college so much you could literally be doing your major and doing your class work but like the the concept of not having your career planned out stresses you out so again No. 1 do not worry about that college is where you find out what you like to do not what you figure out what you wanna do with the rest of your life No.2 the best time to figure out what you wanna do in your career isn't during university isn't after university it's during the time that you have between second year and third year or third year and fourth year these are critical times because over the summer that is the best time for you to gather experience and to see what you like to Do so for me I spent all three summers of my college years doing research so like lab research wet lab stuff and I realized that's that's not what I wanted to do and again that's nobody's problem like that's how you figure out what you actually wanna do so if you're right now doing internships over the summer and you're just like I don't really know if that internships what I want like I don't know if that's what I want that's perfect that's what you're supposed to be figure out No.3 once you graduate that's when you need to start figuring out what you wanna do with your career but like career wise not like life path wise I am currently in my 9 to 5 figuring out what I wanna do for the next five to 10 years just because I don't have that experience and like no one coming out of college is gonna have any idea what they actually wanna do that's why getting a job out of college is the most important part because even if it's not the job that you want in your field or like maybe you have an idea what you wanna do but the job isn't I that's fine you need to gather experience that's not related to what you wanna do to actually figure out what you wanna do which brings me to my last point there is no wrong career path isn't a career path that's Gonna give you a greater revenue relative to one that you actually enjoy like there's no need for you to be like oh I'm gonna be a doctor because you wanna make money when you don't really wanna do that you need to figure out what you actually wanna do as in what makes you satisfied because a lot of the times people people tell me oh that I wanna do this and I wanna do that but they're not even satisfied with their own choice they're doing it to please someone else or something else you need to be truthful to yourself when deciding what you wanna do because it's gonna be the rest of your life it's not the rest of your life via someone else's perception genuinely lock the fuck in and pick out what you actually like to do I guarantee you the moment where you start liking what you actually wanna do and you find a profession that you're enjoying that's when the money comes to you you don't find a job because you make money you find a job that you like and the money flows that is the best career advice I can give to anyone who is around my age and if you're still in college like that is the best advice I can give you because any advice that you hear from anything one else like online that's tailored to who they are and their experience is gonna vary from Yours and the only thing that you can do to actually figure out what you wanna do with your career is to try everything. You're never gonna know what you actually like if you haven't tried anything else. Don't be scared of coming out of college not having your dream job. Don't be scared of coming out of college and not even knowing what you wanna do. Like if you're in your third year and you're stressing out about what you wanna do because people have their life together. If you're still in college and I hear you complaining about the amount of work that you have to do and your fucking college life, I don't wanna hear it. I don't wanna hear it actually. And so today let's talk about some of the things that college students complain about that I'm just like, why the fuck are you complaining? Like actually, why am I hearing you complain right now? Here's the point. Number one, you are never going to be 17 going to your classes ever again. Like literally never. You find the perfect seat and the prof starts talking. He's teaching something that's super easy that you already know how to do. You've never been this locked in class before. Now you're at the library studying with your friends. You have your little coffee. You don't really have that much work yet, so you don't need to be fully locked in. You guys mingle. Everything is super fun. You're having the best time with your friend. And the best part of it is that you don't have any classes on Friday morning. You go home, it's 2:00am. If you struggle with staying motivated while you study, so it's like you open your computer and you kind of just like, don't wanna do that. You like do 15% of your assignment and you're just like, fuck this. Trust me, you're not the only one. It's happened to me before. But guys, when I tell you ever since working, I know exactly how you just keep yourself motivated during studying. And I'm like, wait, why didn't I do this before? You actually have to apply this. Okay? I mean this seriously, like genuinely apply this. the No. 1 rule to constantly stay motivated and to not get burnt out is if you maximize that first hour of your time. Let me explain myself. So you have an assignment to finish and it's like you have a week to do it and you really don't wanna do it. You need to pretend that once you get that assignment, the first hour counts the most. Imagine if you're competing with someone else and you need to use that one hour between starting the assignment and like getting burnt out to the max. So for example, you know, when you get an assignment and starting the assignment, like doing the research, all that, that's so daunting, you need to profit off of that one hour and be like, okay, in this hour, I need to be able to finish this project. And I kid you not, in the moment where you Sit down and you tell yourself you need to finish this assignment within the first hour. Doing the assignment is gonna be so much easy. I don't know what it is mentally, but the moment you start doing it, you're gonna realize my case in point is that at work, like I have projects and stuff to do but the moment we get a new project, everyone is hands on on that new project for an hour straight and when I tell you there is no one in the office who is more locked in than the team that just got a new project. It's unbelievable. The moment that hour passes, everyone kind of dwindles down motivation goes down, morale goes down and everyone's kind of just like, okay, like I already worked on it for an hour like now I'm bored, right? And if you're like, how does this relate to staying motivated during studying though? If I didn't have that one hour to start the project, I probably wouldn't start the fucking project you know, you need to trigger that sense of urgency in your brain before you start doing the assignment being like, okay, I have one hour to finish this so that once you start it and you're in that sense of urgency, you keep going and that's how you keep grinding for like four hours because you tell yourself you have a time crunch the moment where you tell yourself you have so much more Time or this isn't like an assignment due until a week, you're gonna feel that procrastination hit and you're not gonna stay motivated to study at all. Genuinely need to give yourself a fucking time frame and you need to tell yourself this shit needs to be finished today or you're gonna die.

Here's how to study when you're bored, you're exhausted, and you just like literally don't wanna do that. There used to be weeks in college where I would literally just like do nothing and then the weekend after, I'm like, fuck, I have so much shit to do. I'm just busy and I have no time to study. And this is what I would do to get myself to fucking study. No. 1, I always like to set deadlines that were before the actual deadline. So like, for example, if I had an assignment that was due Friday, I would always tell myself that it was due Wednesday so that I could get all the dirty out like work done the weekend. And then by Wednesday I would have my finished draft. So didn't feel like it was Friday and I gave myself more time. Trust me, like if you're a busy girl and you have like shit to do in a week, give yourself earlier deadlines. Your brain will just like get that shit out of the way so fast. No. 2, you have to get better at time blocking. It's like pretty much common sense. But ever since I started working, I realized how my time management skills have like propelled me in college. There's so many bitches that I know who have such poor time management skills. I like when I see them, I'm like, this is why you're failing. Actually, matter of fact, this is literally Why you're doing poorly if you at the grown age of 19, 20, 21 don't know how to manage your time, aka like time blocking, being able to like hang out with your friends one day but also studying that same day. Like you need to be able to do that. The moment where you're good at time managing, it's so easy to stick to your calendar and just study when you're busy because you have time block time for everything else. No. 3 study regularly. Not as in everyday you open your book and you study, but when you see that you have a midterm or a final coming up, always give yourself two weeks notice and I say two weeks cause it's super important. Like the moment where you start studying a week before your for your final slash your midterm, you're like low key cooked. I say that because I know damn well that when I started studying for my midterms two weeks before, I wouldn't do it and I would end up starting a week before. That's why I always tell you guys to give yourselves two weeks so that you actually end up with a week instead of ending up with four fucking days three days. Everyone loves to claim that they're constantly busy all the time like yes, you go out yes, you have a job yes, you have like other sources of income and yes, you have to study but like everyone is Busy. There's so much time in a day. The only reason you feel like you don't have enough time to study is cause you're poor at time management. We'll stand by that. I know so many fucking 4.0 students who spent their whole days at home studying and weren't able to like go out and eat dinner with their friends. And I was like, it's not because you're smart. It's literally because you have poor time management skills.

Get ready with me for work. Except let's talk about some things that college students do that are not normal in like the 9 to 5 world. No. 1, if you have an 8:00am or 9:00am in lecture and you don't wanna go, you could just like skip it. And I feel like a lot of the times when I had a lecture that I didn't wanna go to at all, I would just skip it. But like now that I work and it's like 7:00am, like I can't just be like, fuck, I like don't wanna go to work. Like I have to clock in. You know what I mean? No. 2, when you're in college, you constantly have to think about what you have to do and like your next class or your next assignment. But I've noticed that having to work like a 9 to 5, you don't have to think about work until you're like actually like in the office. So it's like the moment I step out of the office guys, it's as if I have no work to do. Genuinely, I was calling my friend and she's like still in school, right? And she's just like, I can't believe you have like nothing to do. And I'm like, I genuinely have nothing to do. And that's not to say that I don't work during my 9 to 5. I'm just saying that like when you're in school, you have so many assignments and shit. To be plotting for that if you're not studying, you're like literally losing No.3. It's like really refreshing to not have to stress out about anything that's like upcoming that's like your GPA. Today I was asking my coworker and I was like, am I gonna be graded for like the stuff they teach me on week 1? And they're like, no, there's no tests. And I'm like, I'm so traumatized. Of course, the UFT student would assume that there's a test at the end of all of this. Also. Next, I feel like as a student, I used to like procrastinate a lot. Like genuinely I procrastinate my assignments and like I do them, but like I do them at like some point but now that I work, I really don't have anything do, which is why I like like to get my shit done and like out of the way. So I just end up with like nothing to do and I love that. Next, also as a college student, you would go to the library and study with your friends a lot, right? Like for your midterm, for your final, like you just pull up to Robarts and you're like, hey, like let's study together, but it's lowkey. The same thing for when you work. Like you may not be lucky enough to like work with your friends, but if you work in the financial district guys, you go for lunch, all of your friends are There like you can literally meet with like 15 of your friends for lunch if you wanted to just because everyone works in five day anyway, I just feel like there are a lot of similarities when it comes to being a college student and a lot of differences that definitely make or break like a 9 to 5 for me because genuinely like the waking up at 7:00am in the morning, it's just like unfathomable for like my third year or fourth year self. But like I don't miss any of the school work, any of the assignments. I thank god I don't have to take a midterm and like my near foreseeable future. Get ready with me except for my new apartment. Guys, if you've been wondering what I've been doing, cause it's back to school season, you're like, why is she not posting about study tips? Guys, I started working a 9 to 5. So let this be the light in your life to tell you that once you graduate college, you'll be able to find a job. Okay, literally don't even fret. Yeah, I'm gonna go back on my posting grind. I just needed to go through like training first. So I literally spent like the entirety of this week just training and there's so many UFT graduates who work with me guys. Literally everyone's a UFT graduate. Everyone's like a something could graduate. But I genuinely I know like three of my co workers who graduated from UFT who like I knew prior. Oh guys, I'm going through training. It's going well. Is it comparable to the college experience? Absolutely not. And that's what I love about working 9 to 5 guys. The bitches were telling you to like quit college, going to trading, going to influencing like they don't know what's up. How are you gonna tell me that you're gonna be an influencer for the rest of your life? Like how are you gonna be like a model for the rest of your life? So yeah, anyway about that, if you're wondering how you find a job and what not, I'll make videos for us about that but Guys, genuinely let this be the light in your life because I am in neuroscience and pharmacology, right? Like that's what I graduated with, but I literally work in expert networking and like consulting and like it's a bunch of business stuff. Like, do I know the business terms? Absolutely not. Like you literally don't have to do what you graduate in. You know what I mean? Like, it's like you can literally do anything you want in the world. if you're still in college and you're going back to school right now, good luck to you. I'm gonna start posting the videos cause you're gonna need those. Also, just rest assured that you will definitely be able to find a job. And it is, it could be any job that you want. It could be any field that you want. As long as you're locked in, you're devoted to like making your career work, you got this. It's job in the hat back secured as I went from being an international student in my first year living on Rez with like no friends to like finding myself a corporate 9 to 5 after I work in my fully funded apartment.
