Look, I gotta tell you guys about this book, and I'm just. I'm just kidding. It's not about Red Rising. God. It's about misborn. You guys need to. I'm just kidding. It's not about misborn, either. It's. You know that. It's about Empire of the vampire. You. You've been here before. I'm just kidding. I'm kidding, okay? But I needed to get your fucking attention, because you weren't. You weren't gonna fucking stay. You're just gonna scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll. I don't know that book. I'm gonna scroll. You stay and you listen. I started this today. It's. It's banging so far. We're 100 pages in, and it's banging so far. Cascade failure by L M. Sagas. I'm so sorry if I'm saying your last name wrong. It's the best I got. But it's SCI fi, futuristic. We got what appears to be a deserter from some type of Rangers Group, Force military esque, that is looking for work. He gets on a ship, and the people on the ship seem to know who he is, and they have captured him in a way, kind of. The ship is captained by a droid who is basically an A I. And is, from what I can tell, extremely lifelike. And kind of difficult to decipher between whether it's a person or a droid, but it's a droid. And so far, the character work is really good. I really like the interactions between everybody. They just rescued somebody and from a distress. Signal that they found while they're trying to take this dude in to kinda be court martialed in a way. And uh, I feel like there's a lot more that's gonna happen. It's part of a duology. And look, I'm only 100 pages in, so I can't tell you this is 100% a recommendation for me, but I'm reading it live on Twitch all weekend. Tomorrow 11 to three. Sunday, 11 to 3 am to PM Eastern Standard Time. If you wanna come hang out, you can. Doesn't mean you gotta read this book. Everybody's reading whatever the hell they want. These are the only four books that I've ever rated 6 stars. Yeah, that's right, 6 stars. And yes, you can rate them 6 stars. I just did. Because they're better than 5 stars. They're perfect. Alright, get over it. I do what I want. The entirety of the Empire of the vampire trilogy is perfection. Six star! Six star! Six star! If you don't know what this is about, then you have not been here. But I'll forgive you and give you the benefit of the doubt and I'll let you know what it is about. Vampires have overrun this planet because there's something blotting out the sun, That's kind of the overarching plot. They gotta figure out what it is and get rid of it. Otherwise there's just. There's no chance. What are they gonna do? How are they gonna get rid of the vampires if they can't defeat them in the daytime, let alone night time? And our main character, he's one of the people that can actually do something against vampires. But he's captured and he's telling us his story through an interview with his vampire captor. So if you've ever read interview with a vampire, you're gonna get a little bit of those vibes. But the characters, incredible. There's different bloodlines for the vampires and each of the different bloodlines have different powers. It's so badass. The banter is hilarious. You are going to love this from start. To finish. Guaranteed banger. Give it a go. 6 star. 6 star. 6 star. This one should have never made it on this list. I do not understand how it did. Because it's a Stephen King book. I never, ever thought that I would rate a Stephen King book this high. I just never thought that it would be so good. But 11 20. Two sixty three delivers in a way that you just would never, ever guess. It's a historical fiction twisted together with a SCI fi because there's time travel elements, but there's no science in there. It's just a portal to the past. And it's about trying to stop the J F K. Assassination and then so many other things. It's just an incredible story from start to finish, and it just. It gripped me from the very beginning all the way through to the end. And you're just gonna love all the twists and turns and everything that happens here. The characters are fantastic, and it's just. It's so much more than what it seems like. Just give it a go. Even if you don't really like Stephen King very much. If you've never read this, 6 stars.

Jay Kristoff knows how to write an opening line. And not only an opening line, an opening page. But we'll just go with the opening line for Empire just to illustrate it. And I don't even have to read it. I know this one by heart. Ask me not if god exists, but why he's such a prick. That sets the tone for the entire book. Now, Nevernight, he wrote this way before Empire, and that is just. Just one second. Here you go. Here you go. People often shit themselves when they die. That's the opening line. Okay. That's the opening line. Their muscles slack and their souls flutter free, and everything else just slips out. For all their audience's love of death, the playwright seldom mention it. When our hero breathes his last in his heroine's arms, they call no attention to the stain leaking across his tights, or how the stink makes her eyes water as she leans in for her farewell kiss. That's just the first paragraph. This dude knows how to get your attention. Just suck it in and hold it. I, I am so pumped for this book. This is the only trilogy that could potentially be better than Empire of the vampire. Now, I don't say that lightly. if you've seen a single video from me, You know that. If you've been here, it's probably been an Empire post. Very likely. And the reason this could be better, or at least as good, is because it's by the same author, Jay Kristoff. Nevernight is set in a world where the sun's more than one sun never sets, almost never sets, and it's about assassins. So I'm not learning any more about this. All that I do know is that most of the fans of both Empire and Nevernight love this as much, and some. Some even love it more. So I am very fucking curious. Beyond curious. Well, folks, I've been given another reason to talk about this book. And if you know me, you know that I love to talk about this book. A buddy of mine, he looks like this Steven Walker smash. He started reading Lonesome Dove. And now I've put his face on screen, so you recognise him. If he were to not like this book, then you can mob him. Mobbing is good. Bullying is good. If it is, of course, because one hates Lonesome Duff. Yes. So, Steven, I hope you have a wonderful time with this book. Cause if you don't, the mob is coming, my friend, the mob is coming. But in all seriousness, it's a fantastic book. If you have not read this, you should probably join Steven. It's gonna be a great time. It makes me wanna reread it. But I'm already reading a 1200 page behemoth right now in the account of Monte Cristo. So I don't have time for 900 pages again. But you do.
