So when I was a kid, tag was one of my favorite games. Growing up I was the fat kid who could poke my own eyes out with my teeth, but that never stopped me from being goaded into. And as I got older, no one really plays that anymore besides that one hobby with movie. So I was stoked to find out somebody made it into a game. I think I'm not alone in saying I have extraction shooter fatigue but this one was so weird I had to try it out anyways it's a six player co op that plays more like a looter shooter and you're fighting hordes of murderous kitchen appliances when I mean that I mean literal blenders freezers and machines that really want to turn you into pudding it reminded me a lot of Borderlands but with a nice little twist and you're upgrading your weapons and build in the middle of the run while blasting through waves of machines but the longer you stay in the map the more risk you have losing everything so you get to decide if you want to extract early with your loot to come back stronger or push deeper to try to get even better loot or risk dying along the way I'm not saying they changed the genre forever but I did playing it with your friends so be sure to tell your friends it's called Gravebound

So? I absolutely hate most tidy up games right now. Nobody should want to play a chore simulator asset flip built with AI slot. I don't hate the genre, I just think it's rare to find developers who care. But I actually found one. It's the most fun co op tidy up game I've played this year. It has zero AI and a cool twist I've not seen in the genre before. For starters, a dragon catches you robbing its hoard, and instead of killing you, it forces you to organize every single item inside of a pop up storybook where everything is paper crafted and hand drawn by the devs, with some of them using real life paper to make these. Fine, but my favorite part is the level up and skill system. If you ever wanted to hold your friends Big Red Rocket, then this is the game for you. You and up to three friends are in a warehouse filling out orders, boxing them up, and shipping them out. But you have a problem. Everything is physics based, and you'll be moving explosives and other hazards that can end you before your shift. But now, here's where it gets interesting. Not only are you gonna have to be unloading the trucks, reading the orders, and grabbing the right items, but then you have to pick the right box and label everything and use stamps based on how much the item weighs. It's super satisfying. Figure out what fits in the box or stacking items that perfectly fit in the dimension. It seems like a silly game on the surface, but there's a lot more depth than I thought. Stealing makes this one of the best souls likes I have ever played. And this game broke all the rules of a souls like and somehow managed to blow me away with twists I never expected. For starters, you don't farm gear in this game at all. Instead, you're stealing the attacks of all the enemies you defeat. But then it gets even more interesting because you take that attack combined with other enemies attacks to chain them together into a personalized build that works perfect for your own fighting style. And then it gets even more special because without any gear, there is no gear management. It's just fighting and building however you like. And the more you use those attacks, the stronger they become, and the bosses will genuinely clap your cheeks. But that's actually a good thing, because when I finally would beat them and got their abilities, the satisfaction was immeasurable. The game finally dropped today. It's called False Hero.
