To turn off profile views on TikTok, open your profile, tap the three lines at the top right, go to Settings and privacy, then Privacy, then Profile views, and switch off Profile view history. That is it. From that moment, your visits to other profiles stop appearing in their viewer lists, and the list of people who viewed your own profile disappears too. The feature works both ways, so you cannot hide your visits and still see everyone else's.

Step by step
- Open TikTok and tap Profile at the bottom right.
- Tap the three lines (☰) at the top right.
- Tap Settings and privacy.
- Tap Privacy.
- Tap Profile views.
- Switch off Profile view history.
There is a faster route if you have a profile view notification: open it from your Inbox, tap the settings icon at the top right of the Profile views page, and switch the toggle off there.
Menu names move a little between app versions. If you cannot find it, update the app and look for "Profile views" or "Viewer history" inside Privacy.
What changes once it is off
- Your visits become invisible. People you look at no longer see your name in their Profile views list, even if they have the feature on.
- You lose your own list. You stop seeing who visited your profile. You cannot keep one side of it.
- Nothing else changes. Your followers, your videos, your reach and your For You feed are not affected. Profile views have no effect on how TikTok distributes your content.
Why you might not see the setting at all
Profile view history is only offered to some accounts. Third-party guides consistently report two conditions: you must be 16 or older, and your account must have fewer than 5,000 followers. If you do not meet both, the option does not appear, and your visits are not shown to anyone anyway.
Can people still find out you looked?
Not through TikTok. With the setting off, TikTok does not show your visit anywhere. Apps and websites that promise to reveal "who stalked your profile" do not have access to that data: TikTok does not share it with anyone. At best they guess, at worst they collect your login.
Video views are a different thing
Turning off profile views does not hide you from video view counts. Every play still counts as a view on the video, anonymously. If you want to understand what does and does not count as a view, read what counts as a view on TikTok. If you would rather see the full picture of who engages with a profile and which of its videos take off, you can analyze any TikTok account.
FAQ
If I turn off profile views, can someone still see I viewed their profile?
No. With Profile view history off, your visit is not shown in their list, even if they have the feature turned on.
Can I see who viewed my TikTok profile if I turn it off?
No. The feature is mutual. To see your visitors, you have to switch it back on, which also makes your own visits visible. See can you see who viewed your TikTok profile for how the list works.
Why can't I find Profile views in my settings?
The setting is reported to be available only to users 16 and older with fewer than 5,000 followers. Larger accounts do not get it, and their visits are not shown to anyone.
Does turning off profile views affect my reach?
No. Profile views are a privacy feature. They play no part in how TikTok recommends your videos.
How long does TikTok keep the profile views list?
The list covers the last 30 days.
